Business Challenge
Hess was advancing development of a major offshore asset in Ghana, West Africa. During the Pre-FEED planning phase, the organization faced a critical resource gap, lacking the internal capacity required to effectively develop and maintain the project schedule. To ensure project readiness and continuity, Hess engaged IMS for specialized scheduling expertise.
Solution
IMS partnered with Hess to deliver comprehensive scheduling support across both the Pre-FEED and FEED phases. IMS led the development of the FEED schedule while ensuring continuity and integrity of the Pre-FEED schedule.
Working closely with Hess project leadership and key contractors, IMS assumed responsibility for schedule development, integration, and ongoing maintenance. Two senior IMS schedulers were deployed to support the project through the FEED Stage Gate, providing critical expertise during this pivotal phase.
Following the successful transition through the Stage Gate, scheduling responsibilities were seamlessly transferred to Hess as internal resources became available.
Impact
With IMS support, the Hess Ghana team successfully achieved the FEED Stage Gate on schedule, enabling a timely transition into the FEED phase. This outcome positioned the project for continued execution success and reinforced schedule discipline during a critical stage of development.
