Senior Project Scheduler - Electrical Infrastructure

Position Overview

Innovative Management Solutions, Inc. (IMS) is seeking experienced Senior Project Schedulers to support large-scale electrical infrastructure projects, including transmission, distribution substations, and power delivery for mission-critical facilities such as data centers.

This role will be embedded with a Utility Contractor and responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing complex, logic-driven schedules that support safe, coordinated, and predictable project execution. The ideal candidate understands how electrical construction is sequenced in the field and can translate that into clear, actionable schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

Schedule Development & Maintenance

  • Develop and maintain detailed, logic-driven project schedules in Primavera P6
  • Build baseline schedules aligned with contract requirements and construction work plans
  • Incorporate engineering, procurement, material delivery, outage coordination, construction, testing, and energization activities
  • Develop and maintain recovery schedules when required

Electrical Construction Planning

  • Sequence work for transmission lines, substations, distribution upgrades, underground utilities, and related civil work
  • Coordinate schedules around outage windows, switching plans, and utility constraints
  • Integrate subcontractor schedules into the master schedule
  • Support short-interval planning and look-ahead schedules for field teams

Analysis & Reporting

  • Perform critical path analysis and float analysis
  • Identify schedule risks and mitigation strategies
  • Support time impact analyses (TIAs) and change order evaluations
  • Provide clear schedule narratives and executive-level reporting
  • Support progress measurement and forecasting

Collaboration

  • Work directly with project managers, construction managers, engineers, and superintendents
  • Facilitate schedule review and planning sessions
  • Ensure schedule accuracy reflects actual field conditions

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of project scheduling experience supporting electrical infrastructure or heavy civil construction
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction sequencing (substations, transmission, distribution, or grid modernization)
  • Experience working for or supporting contractors (EPC, utility contractor, or GC)
  • Experience managing large, multi-phase, multi-discipline schedules
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in an embedded team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with outage-driven construction environments
  • Familiarity with commissioning and energization sequencing
  • Experience with earned value and progress measurement
  • Schedule risk analysis experience
  • PMI-SP or PSP certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
