Business Challenge

The Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission (PVSC) required a comprehensive project controls solution to support a ten-year, $2 billion FEMA resiliency program following the severe damage caused by Superstorm Sandy. The program involved upgrading and constructing new wastewater treatment facilities while improving plant resiliency, increasing capacity, and meeting growing regulatory requirements. PVSC needed a system that could provide transparency, collaboration, cost tracking, reporting visibility, and efficient program management across planning, design, and construction activities.

Solution

Critical Business Analysis (an IMS subsidiary) was selected as the primary implementation partner to support the installation, configuration, training, and ongoing support of PMWeb for the FEMA Resiliency Program. Working closely with PVSC’s program management team, CBA (an IMS subsidiary) helped configure PMWeb to support program costs, budgets, contracts, invoices, change orders, forecasts, risk management, meetings, actions, design deliverables, document management, and workflow automation. PMWeb’s dashboards, reporting capabilities, configurable workflows, and business intelligence tools provided a centralized project controls platform to improve visibility and accountability across the program.
