Business Challenge
Submit a proposal for Joint Air-to-Surface Stand-off Missile (JASSM) to the United States Government. As major sub-contractor, Northrop was responsible for submitting detailed schedules for Aft Module, Assembly, Integration & Test and Support Systems for the two major phases of this program. The AGM-158 JASSM (Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile) is a low observable standoff cruise missile developed in the United States. It is a large, semi-stealthy long-range weapon of the 2,000 pounds (910 kg) class.
Develop an Integrated Master Schedule that met the government’s requirements, including resource loading by element of cost and graphics.
Solution
IMS developed the Integrated Master Schedule. The schedule was resource loaded by summary cost element in man-hours to provide Program Management with visibility into resource requirements and time phasing. Primavera Project Planner and Microsoft Project were used to provide the required bar charts, logic diagrams, histograms etc.
Impact
Northrop Grumman Corporation was able to deliver a proposal containing detailed integrated cost and schedule plans to the government as required.
